Request for contributions: Knowledge Transfer Programme

Category: CGAP News

Cass Business School and Truestone Impact Investment Management are partnering on a Knowledge Transfer Programme to conduct research and promote the field of social and environmental impact investment. Truestone will launch an Impact Investment Hub in conjunction Cass featuring academic articles and papers as well as research on impact investments. The monthly editions will feature content related to impact investment as well as an analysis of an investment idea.

Submissions are invited in the following areas focusing on key questions:

  • Philanthropy and Social Giving Model: Does the onset of impact investment alter or challenge the traditional philanthropic model?
  • Sector Research: Is there an overlap between investment capital and philanthropic capital in impact sectors such as microfinance, social housing, social justice, health and sustainable agriculture? What are the risks/rewards for both philanthropy and impact?
  • Impact Measurement: In recent years, has the collection and measurement of social and environmental data changed at the philanthropic level? Has there been a transfer of knowledge from the Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) or Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) space in terms of measurement?
  • Lessons Learned: What can impact investing learn from philanthropy especially in terms of challenges of operating in local communities?

The partnership will be launched in January. Send your papers or research to Peter Grant
