CGAP researchers presented a number of papers at the 40th Annual Conference of the Association for Research on Nonprofit and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA) in Toronto, Canada. These included ‘Community Foundations as Community Leaders? Comparing developments in Canada and the United Kingdom’ by Susan Phillips, Tobias Jung and Jenny Harrow which provided some early insights into their ongoing comparative work on community foundations in the two countries, and Beth Breeze’s ‘How Donors Choose Charities’.

Tobias Jung, Susan Phillips and Jenny Harrow also hosted a well-received colloquium based on the ongoing work for the Routledge Companion to Philanthropy. The colloquium brought together contributing authors and conference participants for an international discussion on key topics, emerging themes and trajectories, as well as opportunities and challenges for philanthropy.
